5) Sexual harassment has been on the increase on Facebook, Sexual predators are being found to send nude pictures to their victims, sometimes camouflage themselves to be what they are not ,male sending a female pictures vice versa until their victims fall into their trap.

SAFETY TIPS YOU NEED TO STAY SECURED ON SOCIAL MEDIA EXPECIALLY ON FACEBOOK

1) Ensure you set a very strong privacy settings for your Facebook account, many don't even touch this area and this can make their Facebook account unsecured.Setting this will allow you to determine the people you allow  to see your profile and content there by prevent hackers from seeing your information online.

2) Never post your personal contact information online such as phone number ,email and contact address, all these information can be used to attack you in various ways, online or physically.There are a lot of software that hack or collect email at random on Facebook and this can be used to torment or SPAM you.

   3) Be quick to report any abuse towards you on Facebook,when you see the pictures or messages sent to abuse or harass you,click on report abuse link and report immediately, do this to stop this on time before it gets out of hand.When you are tagged on any picture you dislike, untag yourself.

4) Don't just create a password, but create a stronger one that can't be easily known and ensure you don't share it  under any circumstances.Don't forget to always log out completely if you are making use of public computer or friend's phone to log in to your Facebook account.

5) Don't be careless about what you post on Facebook, whatever you are not comfortable about yourself or others,don't even try to post it at all ,or you think you will remove it later or sooner,somebody may have taken a screenshot of it and it can be used against you in the future.

6) Don't  post your location at every moment, people or predators may use that to track you and you may be halt

7) Children under 13years of  age should not register facebook account, it may be too dangerous for them to control the dangers on Facebook such as cyber bulling,hence don't lie about your age when registering with facebook,it's for your own good.
