PARENTS : HOW YOU CAN EFFECTIVELY PREVENT JUVENILE DELINQUENCY
Juvenile delinquency can be defined as the antisocial behaviour(s) or character(s) of young individuals under the age of 16 or 18 (depending on state or country) that cannot be controlled by the parents and are therefore subject to legal action in the court of law.This kind of crime committed by the young person can not be punished by life imprisonment nor by death sentence.
CAUSES AND PREVENTION OF JUVENILE DELINQUENCY
LACK OF PARENTAL CONTROL
Many parents have lost control over their children, many over pampered them ,they don't see any reason why they should be hard on their wards.When the child begin to commit little little offences like stealing at home,fighting in school, and the parents are aware of these,nothing is done to correct or discipline the child.Sometimes if other people want to correct those children,the parents will avert the correction or discipline .Gradually those children continue to grow in misconduct until they will finally commit a bigger crime which is termed juvenile delinquency, at this point ,the children will have to face the legal action because of his or her action.
My advice to the parent is this,never leave your children uncorrected and undisciplined, neither correction nor discipline kills,it will rather instill character into your children,if you allow them to weep now because of your correction , it will safe you from weeping over them if you train them well.You are doing them harm than good when you don't correct them of their wrong behaviour,such children are the ones end up in juvenile delinquency.

MEDIA INFLUENCE
Media have become a source of bad influence for children, many films that are being produced in hollywood,bollywood etc are teaching our children violence ,revenge , hatred ,rape and abuse.Children that are addicted to these kind of films tend towards acting what they see on those films.Social media also contributing a lot to this bad influence, young people are exposed to evil people on social media and they begin a friendship that can cause the children to become violent, they are being introduced to different crimes and soon you see these children acting violently and perpetrating evil in the society which is called juvenile delinquency.
To prevent this media influence,parent should be able to control what your children see on the media such as television programmes,films and on social media,get to know who are their friends on social media,who do they chat with,if possible to track their chatting history.Do these to safe your child from juvenile delinquency.
Government also has a role to play in controlling the film production industry in the society,before any film is allowed into the society, it should be thoroughly scrutinise for violence and all other vices in other to reduce the bad influence on the children.
PEER PRESSURE
Peer pressure is a big challenge for many youths especially under the age of 18,many children have become juvenile delinquent as result of peer pressure.Some even from good homes under parental guide,on getting to high school, they come under peer pressure and they are influenced negatively and they begin to act weird and violent, some will be introduced to drugs, alcohol.When a child begin to drink ,smoke and take drugs,such child if not quickly cautioned and even rehabilitated if need be,sooner you will see such child involving in juvenile delinquency,committing crime either individually or collectively with his or her group(friends).
To prevent this,children should be warned concerning bad friends especially by their parents and guidance,good communication corrupt good morals,let's help our children by guiding them towards morals and what is acceptable in the society and the consequences of juvenile delinquency.
WEAKNESS
Some children have this weakness of inability to control their anger,some when they are angry ,they can do the unimaginable,children going to extent of shooting their friends ,cutting and stabbing people out of anger.

BROKEN HOMES
Today,divorce has become other of the day in America and even in many parts of the world.Many homes are broken, we now have many single mothers,fathers who have become irresponsible for the family as a result of separation.
One of the things that come out of such homes are children that are not well trained,children left on their own to do whatever they like,no father to correct them especially if the children are with the mother.Such children grow up to become violent and weird, no fear for anybody and ready to harm anybody that comes on their way.Such children can easily join bad gangs in the neighbourhood and nobody to stop them.
When the two parents are together ,the children can easily be corrected and disciplined together for wrong doings,the way a single mother will train a child cannot be compared with when the child is trained by both parents.
My advice to married couples, do all you can to settle all your differences so that you can live together as parent for your children, if not for anything but for the sake of your children ,let's reduce the rate of divorce in our society and we will have a well behaved children.
CRIMINAL PARENTS
What else do you want to see in the life of a child whose parents are criminals,it's what you are that you will reproduce in your children, they will copy your way of life.A father that is a thief will give bath to a thief, you won't be able to correct your children if they take after you ,no matter how you hate what you are doing and you don't want your children to follow you to do it,you cannot help it ,it will rub on them.
The only solution for this is that the parent should turn a new leave if you want to have a better result in your children, let them know you have changed and the reason why and consequences if you continue in that your criminal act, let them know that you don't want then to go in that way,it's dangerous for them and society doesn't permit juvenile delinquency.
FIGHTING PARENTS
If the kind of couple you are is a fighting type,probably you are found of beating your wife or sometimes you go outside and fight people, or regular fight in the neighbourhood and your children are watching you,such children will never see anything bad in fighting their friends, people around them and anybody that comes their way.You have sown a seed of fight in them.Such children become violent, at a slightest provocation they are ready to set every on fire.In fighting, many crime can be committed such as murder,maiming( inflicting serious injury on people),these are juvenile delinquency act.
Parents,for the sake of your children, stop fighting either each other as a couple or other people around you or your neighbourhood,doing this will help your children not to involve in violence because you have shown them a good example and you will be able to correct them if by any reason they fight and you aware of the fight.
INSTILL GODLY FEAR IN THEM
