1) The safety measures could be to avoid individual mistakes that can result in accident or ugly situation that can make you regret ever travelling
2) To prevent you from predators who want to take advantage of you being a stranger in a place not knowing the terrain or surroundings
3) To avoid being a victim of circumstances

A) HEALTH SAFETY TIPS FOR TRAVELLERS OR TOURIST
1) Find out what kind of disease is endemic in that area e.g malaria ,prepare to know how to prevent yourself from being a victim of such disease
2) Never be in haste to eat the local foods in the place,your body system may not tolerate it immediately, only eat those food you a familiar with and after a while if you are still interested in eating the local foods ,start with a very little quantity until you are sure you can eat more without causing harm to your body.
3) If you have health challenges and you are on medications, try as much as possible to carry along with you enough of your drugs that will sustain you for a period of time so that you will not run out of your drugs while you don't know where to get it ,it could be dangerous to you.
4) Find out what type of weather condition do they have or season of the year are they having at the time you are going, so that you can prepare in terms of clothing and even considering whether you can cope health-wise .
B) OTHER GENERAL SAFETY TIPS
1) Make sure you have a copy of your ID document well kept in your hotel,this can be helpful in case you misplace the one you are using.
2) If you are to camp as a tourist,ensure you go to an approved site to camp and don't camp in a public or open places where you can be noticed.
3) if you are there as a group and you want to go to remote area leaving the rest probably they are not interested in going ,inform them and ensure you are communicating with them your movements time to time.
4) Ensure you park your car in a well-lit place and also ask the person who accommodate you if they have a secured place for parking to ensure the safety of your car.
5) Be careful ,don't begin to show off by wearing expensive apparel or clothing,jewelleries or display expensive camera.Be as simple as possible.
6) Always ensure your car is locked from the inside while driving
7) When you park your car, don't leave your luggage visible or put it on the roof rack
8) if you have to rent a car during your stay in the place to ease mobility, ensure you check properly if the car doors ,windows and bonnet are working well before you leave the place of rent.
9) When you are entering or moving through a crowd, ensure you are mindful of your belongings, you can put them in a bag strap across your head and loop over your body.
10) When going out ,plan your route very well before leaving your hotel so that you will not have to start checking map on the street.
11) Don't carry along with you excess money as you go out from your hotel ,always plan what you want to use your money for and go with the required money needed.
12) Be very cautious and very alert when you go to withdraw money from ATM.
13)Become aware of your surroundings ,ensure that you are walking with purpose and confidence on the street.
14) Always ensure you keep yourself within the populated area ,don't go to deserted places expecially in the night.
15) Ensure to find out and safe in your phone the emergency lines that are being used in the place.
16) Don't be quick to only checkout the facilities in your hotel room but also look for the emergency exit route incase of emergency probably in the night.
17) Ensure you confirm the identity of every person knocking at your door from hotel desk before opening, don't just accept to open because the person says is from maintenance.
